The Communications Department is seeking a high-caliber Video Production Coordinator to join our team and drive the visual identity of Eagle County Government Television (ECG-TV).

• Designed for an expert-level video editor and photographer, this role requires an experienced media professional with at least 5 years of experience managing live productions in high-pressure environments.
• Navigating the multi-faceted organization across dozens of departments, you will act as a full-cycle creative lead-taking projects from initial concept through scriptwriting, shooting, and final delivery.
• A background in fast-paced news editing is ideal, bringing the speed, storytelling precision, and editorial judgment necessary to translate complex public service initiatives into compelling visual stories.

As a technical anchor for our broadcast operations, you will oversee both production aesthetics and backend infrastructure. The ideal candidate pairs post-production skills with a strong foundation in media asset management (MAM) systems, network management, and broadcast engineering concepts.

You must be equally confident directing a full creative shoot as you are working autonomously during live broadcasts, where real-time troubleshooting and independent problem-solving are essential. Whether optimizing workflows for short-form social media video or delivering live government proceedings, you are expected to hit the ground running on day one-offering strategic insights, technical solutions, and a high standard of creative leadership.

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm, some mandatory nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Content Creation: Develop scripts, capture photo/video/audio, direct, edit, and deliver short- and long-form videos, PSAs, and digital media for County departments and partner agencies.
• Live Broadcast Operations: Direct and switch live County board meetings, presentations, and emergency broadcasts, managing technical systems and troubleshooting signal flow issues in real time.
• Creative Strategy & Campaign Direction: Translate complex public programs into engaging visual campaigns optimized for TV, web, social media, and internal platforms.
• Technical & Infrastructure Support: Maintain video/audio production gear, lighting, switchers, broadcast infrastructure, media asset management (MAM) systems, and post-production workflows.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with elected officials, department leaders, and community agencies to align visual content with County communication goals and core values.
• Emergency Communications: Provide live video broadcast support and media technical support during County emergency responses.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:

• Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication Or any combination of education and experience that results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities may also be considered.
• At least 5 years of production related experience
• News or similar broadcast experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record. The position is required to drive a County vehicle to various locations and events in Eagle County.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Expert proficiency in video production, DSLR/professional photography, lighting, field audio, and post-production editing suites.
• Strong technical understanding of broadcast engineering, networked video systems, switchers, MAM systems, and signal flow.
• Proven ability to direct live events and troubleshoot equipment or transmission failures independently under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional project management, scriptwriting, and visual storytelling capabilities.
