Full Job Description
Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Vice President on the Technology Solutions Sales Team. The Technology Solutions Team is responsible for developing, selling, and marketing our private markets reporting, diligence, and analytics solutions, anchored by our proprietary software SAAS product, Cobalt LP. Hamilton Lane is a leading provider in private markets technology solutions, and we work with Investors in the Private Markets to streamline their operations and investment practices through the use of cutting-edge technology. The Technology Solutions team is actively involved in client interaction and development as well as special projects and initiatives with all departments including: investments, research, business development, and relationship management.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the success and revenue of sales for the Tech Solutions ("TS") team. Candidate will own a designated territory and carry a quarterly and annual sales quota to meet and/or exceed.
  • Lead demonstrations of tech solution product and service offerings, both onsite and virtual. Demonstrate expert command of product offering as well as broader private markets industry knowledge.
  • Develop strategic sales plan for allocated sales territory across LP and GP prospects
  • High-level contact with clients/prospects and other major industry participants• Address client inquiries regarding products and solutions
  • Work with SDR and marketing teams for content, marketing campaigns and other initiatives. Develop market expertise and understanding of competitive offerings within industry.
  • Lead client engagement, needs assessment, and solution pitches. •
  • Maintain accurate records regarding account visits, client conversations, finalized contracts within CRM. Each Sales Director will have activity goals each quarter/year.
  • Work seamlessly with other departments (Technical Sales Specialist, Client Service, Research, Product Management, Legal, Billing) to ensure that all client requests and inquiries are managed appropriately.
  • Drive contract process with prospects to completion in conjunction with legal team. A successful Sales Director will have an understanding of legal process, acceptable industry terms and an understanding of impact from a commercial standpoint.


Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree, with a preference in Marketing and/or Finance.
  • 7+ years' of relevant experience. Prior success in sales with leading territory and having a quota required. Prior experience in complex, consultative type sales preferred.
  • Leadership aptitude
  • Previous work in FinTech sales, Investment Management sales is required. Experience within private markets specifically is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic understanding of SAAS solutions and rudimentary technical knowledge
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and proven ability to effectively close leads.
  • Ability to thrive in a metrics-driven sales environment. Ability to operate within both a team environment while also driving individual initiatives and results.
  • A "hunter" personality with a drive to reach decision-makers is essential
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accountability and work ethic
  • Willingness and ability to work under pressure
