Position Summary and Job Responsibilities

BGI is seeking a Vice President of Technical Services (Advanced Programs and Integration) to lead one of the company's three core business segments. This role is responsible for delivering technical excellence across current programs while building the roadmap and foundation for BGI's future in defense technology.

The Vice President will operate at the intersection of program execution, engineering innovation, operational integration, and customer engagement, with full accountability for segment performance, growth, and technical direction.

This leader will integrate Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) directly into the segment, ensuring customer needs, operational realities, and emerging mission demands are translated into executable technical solutions.

This role calls for exceptional technical and engineering acumen spanning software design, AI/ML, data science, and DevSecOps. This leader connects operational needs to the secure development and fielding of mission-critical defense technology and capabilities that scale to real world warfighter solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Business Segment Leadership and Accountability
  • Lead the Technical Services business segment with full responsibility for P&L performance and growth
  • Establish priorities across technology initiatives, programs, and R&C efforts aligned with BGI's Strategic Approach and Vision and Annual Directives
  • Build and develop a high-performing collaborative team grounded in BGI's core values

Requirements and Capabilities (Growth Integration)
  • Lead the segment's Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) function
  • Establish and execute a roadmap to create defense technology, positioning BGI to expand into advanced, productized, and scalable capabilities
  • Maintain direct engagement with customers to understand mission needs, capability gaps, and future direction
  • Translate operational and doctrinal needs into technical solutions and program opportunities
  • Lead capture shaping, solution development, and proposal efforts within the segment
  • Align pursuits with enterprise priorities

Program Execution
  • Oversee execution of all technical and engineering programs within the segment
  • Deliver mission-relevant, high-quality solutions aligned with customer expectations
  • Drive discipline across cost, schedule, staffing, and performance
  • Identify and mitigate execution risks early while maintaining strong customer trust
  • Foster a "keep sold" mindset to identify additional opportunities to enhance warfighter solutions

Engineering and Technical Integration
  • Lead development and integration of technical capabilities across programs, including systems engineering and software architecture, ensuring high availability and scalability, resilience, and security-by-design
  • Develop segment-wide software and systems architecture, approve technology stack selections and reference architectures, and institute DevSecOps pipelines and guardrails-architecture reviews, code walkthroughs, automated testing, and observability-that drive measurable quality, security, and development velocity
  • Lead AI/ML capability development (computer vision, NLP, sensor fusion, autonomy) aligned to mission needs; set MLOps standards (dataset governance, feature stores, model registries, reproducibility); integrate solutions to customer requirements
  • Advance digital engineering practices (MBSE, digital thread/twin) to connect requirements, models, code, and test artifacts end-to-end
  • Ensure compliance with responsible AI and data governance policies; integrate simulation-based validation for mission-critical AI
  • Integrate with LVC environments and modeling/simulation frameworks to enable rapid tech insertion and mission rehearsal.
  • Ensure alignment with DoW DevSecOps Reference Design, RMF/NIST, and secure supply chain

Customer Engagement and Mission Alignment
  • Develop deep, sustained relationships with customers in the technical and operational communities
  • Maintain strong awareness of doctrine, strategic direction, and modernization priorities
  • Complete understanding of multi-domain integration, ensuring solutions align with joint and service-level operational concepts
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers in shaping technical approaches to mission challenges

Innovation and Future Capability Development
  • Establish Technical Services as BGI's engine for defense technology innovation
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies aligned with mission needs
  • Drive internal investment and partnerships that expand BGI's technical capabilities
  • Build pathways from services to scalable, technology-enabled defense technology solutions
