The Vice President (VP), Product & Business Development reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and will play as a lead role on the commercial team for the product portfolio using Voice of Customer and internal facilitation to make product decisions and recommendations. This position will work with Marketing on new product launches and take lead on training and help equipping the customer facing teams with product and service technical information. This individual will lead locating, developing, defining, negotiating, managing, and closing outside and adjacent business relationships that will strengthen our compounding value proposition and differentiation in the market.
Essential Functions:This description is intended to be illustrative of the major duties performed by the employee assigned to this position. The VP, Product & Business Development will be responsible for oversight and direction of all product and service expansion strategies including:
- Commercial lead for product development and portfolio expansion
- Work with all areas of marketing to expand value proposition and Leiters marketplace differentiation
- Collaborate with Product Development, Project Management, Quality and Operations to facilitate the evaluation, exploration, and development of new products and services that strengthen Leiters Health offering as well as competitive differentiation.
- Participate in and conduct monthly Product Development meetings to ensure that communication is effective between Commercial and Operations.
- Lead consistent communication efforts with company leadership on development opportunities, strategic relationship potential, and fit within broader company strategy.
- Create and maintain "Trusted Advisor" status with key opinion leaders enabling strong "Voice of Customer" feedback to feed our product and business development activities
- Serve as a member of the Commercial Sales & Marketing Leadership team.
- Locate or propose potential strategic business partnerships by contacting potential partners, sharing Leiters story and including discovering, exploring and closing new opportunities.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, financials, evaluating options, and resolving internal priorities
- Work with Finance and Commercial analytical teams to develop comprehensive business cases to enable effective evaluation of opportunities and making recommendations to company leadership
- Work with internal Legal counsel to assess risk of product and service expansions and develop advantageous contracts to govern strategic partnerships.
- Close business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Experience and Necessary Competencies:- Master's degree in business field or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- 8+ years of experience in Business Management in a commercial environment, preferably in a pharmacy compounding company.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experienced in managing and coordinating staff and group responsibilities, leadership, collaboration, participates and/or leads in senior management decision processes
- Attention to detail, and excellent communication with other functional areas and sites.
- Subject Matter Expert on hospital pharmacy product use and 503B industry / environment
- Experience in interacting with customers and forming positive business relationships.
- Ability to effectively work cross-functionally between Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Executive team.
- Ability to provide technical solutions to difficult issues
- Ability to close business deals, provide motivation for sales, and sell to customer needs
- Excellent organization, documentation, prospecting, sales planning, presentation and computer skills
- Detail oriented, with business knowledge, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality
- Understanding of 503B regulatory requirements, cGMP standards, and USP guidelines is a plus!
- Proficient written, verbal and oral English communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Microsoft, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds periodically.
- Ability to travel 25-50% of the time.
