Job Description As the College's chief operations and facilities officer, responsibilities of this position include oversight of Information Technology Services (ITS); facilities and physical plant operations; capital planning, construction, and property management; campus police; workplace safety and risk management; contract review; and development and oversight of the College's county-funded budget. The position is also responsible for long-range infrastructure planning, operational continuity, regulatory and safety compliance, and stewardship of college resources.
As a member of the College's executive leadership, the jobholder advises the President on operational, facilities, technology, safety, and risk-related matters; presents college budget and planning information before the board of trustees, county commissioners, and other governing bodies; provides executive-level administrative oversight during the evenings and on weekends as required by operational needs; and leads special initiatives as assigned by the president.
Min Salary $135,687.86
Mid Salary $152,648.85 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.
Duties/FunctionsDifficult ChallengesContactsEducation Required Bachelor's degree in construction/facilities management, engineering, business administration, public administration or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Education PreferredExperience Required - 15 years of progressively responsible experience managing at least two of the following areas: information technology, policing/law enforcement, facilities maintenance and operations, capital planning and projects, and risk management
- Experience communicating complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences
- Broad knowledge and experience in fiscal/resource management.
- Experience managing large complex projects.
- Experience with employee supervision, including performance evaluation.
Experience PreferredKSA Required - Knowledge of facilities operations, capital planning, construction, and infrastructure management, including federal, state, and municipal laws, codes, and other complex requirements.
- Knowledge of information technology operations and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of policing/law enforcement operations, particularly in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of risk management, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, procurement, and contract administration.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership across diverse operational functions.
- Ability to develop and implement long-range operational and capital plans.
- Ability to manage complex projects, competing priorities, and organizational change.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and make sound, timely decisions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build effective relationships with executive leadership, governing boards, governmental agencies, employees, and external partners.
- Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
