Position SummaryThe Vice President of Sales is responsible for developing and executing TROY Group's global sales strategy and leading the organization in achieving sustainable revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and market expansion. The position carries responsibility for global revenue and provides strategic and operational leadership to TROY's global sales organization.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President will build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, resellers, channel partners, and other strategic business partners. The position works closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, strengthen TROY's market position, develop high-performing sales teams, and ensure sales initiatives align with the Company's overall business objectives.
This position requires a hands-on commercial leader who combines strategic thinking with disciplined sales execution and is comfortable operating in a specialized B2B environment involving hardware, software, consumables, and technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute TROY's global sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, customer/partner acquisition, retention, and growth objectives.
- Lead, develop, coach, and hold accountable the global sales organization, establishing clear goals, performance expectations, KPIs, and sales processes.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth through new customers, markets, geographies, channels, strategic partnerships, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, resellers, channel partners, and strategic accounts.
- Direct sales forecasting, pipeline management, territory planning, account strategy, and performance reporting to ensure visibility, accuracy, and accountability for results.
- Establish sales objectives and closely monitor performance.
- Develop and manage sales budgets and evaluate sales performance, costs, methods, and return on investment.
- Ensure the global sales team maintains strong subject-matter knowledge of TROY's products, solutions, markets, customers, and competitive environment.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, evolving customer needs, and buying behaviors to identify risks and opportunities.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Product Management, Operations, R&D, Finance, and other functions to support product strategy, market positioning, customer experience, and execution of growth initiatives.
- Recommend sales compensation and incentive structures that align sales behaviors and performance with Company objectives.
- Provide executive leadership with accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, performance analysis, and recommendations regarding growth opportunities.
- Represent TROY with major customers, strategic partners, industry organizations, and at trade shows and other business events.
- Travel domestically and internationally as necessary to support customers, sales teams, channel partners, and business development activities.
- Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years of progressive B2B sales experience, with substantial experience driving revenue growth in complex sales environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales leadership experience, including responsibility for developing and leading high-performing sales professionals.
- Demonstrated global/international sales leadership experience, including responsibility for sales activities across multiple regions, countries, channels, or international markets.
- Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding revenue targets, developing new markets, growing strategic accounts, and building long-term customer relationships.
- Experience leading a substantial sales organization with significant revenue responsibility.
- Experience with technical products and solution-based selling; experience in printing/imaging, security solutions, hardware/software, consumables, financial-services technology, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with channel, distributor, reseller, and/or strategic-partner sales models.
- Strong experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, CRM systems, sales analytics, pricing, budgeting, and performance management.
- Experience with Hubspot (CRM) and NetSuite (ERP) is a positive but not required.
- Proven ability to recruit, coach, motivate, and develop sales teams and establish a culture of accountability and results.
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, executive presence, and ability to develop trusted relationships with senior customer and business-partner stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively across functions and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote leadership environment while maintaining strong communication, visibility, and engagement with the sales organization and executive leadership.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including international travel.
