The Tri-City Storm and Viaero Center are looking for an entrepreneurial executive to lead one of the USHL's premier hockey franchises and Central Nebraska's top sports and entertainment venue. This is a rare opportunity to shape both an iconic hockey brand and a regional destination driving revenue, building community, and delivering results.
Reporting directly to ownership, you'll have the authority and accountability to build something meaningful: a high-performing team, a thriving venue, and a franchise that punches above its weight.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Business Development- Lead all ticket sales initiatives including season, group, suite, and premium sales.
- Develop and execute sponsorship and advertising strategies.
- Increase non-hockey event bookings and venue utilization.
- Grow corporate partnerships and regional business relationships.
- Support merchandising, concessions, and ancillary revenue growth.
Leadership & Staffing- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing staff culture.
- Create accountability systems and departmental reporting structures.
- Lead weekly management meetings and operational planning.
- Collaborate closely with hockey operations leadership including the Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations.
Financial Management- Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
- Deliver regular reporting and KPI dashboards to ownership.
- Monitor profitability, cash flow, staffing costs, and event performance.
- Identify operational efficiencies and margin improvement opportunities.
Community & Engagement - Serve as the public face of the Storm and Viaero Center in the Kearney community.
- Build relationships with sponsors, schools, civic organizations, local businesses, and regional tourism partners.
- Help establish the Viaero Center as a true regional destination for sports and entertainment.
Preferred Qualifications - 5-10+ years in sports, entertainment, venue, or event management.
- A track record of leading revenue-generating business operations.
- Experience in ticket sales, sponsorships, and/or facility management.
- Strong financial acumen and reporting skills.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Experience working with ownership groups or boards preferred.
- Arena, hockey, minor league sports, or venue management experience strongly preferred.
