About the OpportunityReporting to the Senior Vice President Value-Based Care. The Vice President of Managed Care is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence,

S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. In addition to leading a dynamic team. This role features extensive interaction with senior leaders across Contracting, Operations, Finance, Strategy, M&A, and ancillary business lines - providing excellent visibility
Key ResponsibilitiesPayor Portfolio Evaluation and Management- Evaluates the existing payor portfolio - start, renegotiate, or terminate relations as appropriate.
- Leads payor negotiations and provides active coaching for direct reports who are leading negotiations
- Manages and oversees the implementation process of contracts, including contract storage, organizational and team announcements, and coordination of action taken with other teams, including revenue cycle management, finance, accounting, growth, and operations.
Strategic Relationship Development- Establishes and fosters executive relationships with health plans to advance value-based care goals, improved access for Compassus communities, and fair reimbursement.
- Maintains high visibility to field leadership, including Divisional Presidents and Regional Vice Presidents.
- Coordinates with field leadership in the execution of the recommended strategies across payor relationships.
- Develops strategies and long-term relationship roadmaps to drive successful outcomes within a world evolving to value-based care.
Operational Excellence and Innovation- Leads development and advancement of managed care capabilities with a focus on continued operational excellence.
- Incorporates AI as appropriate to drive efficiencies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Collaborates with other shared services to address obstacles, identify improvement opportunities, and implement new solutions.

Key Job Requirements and PreferencesEducation- Required: Bachelor's degree required.
- Preferred : MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience- Preferred: Five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience strongly preferred.
- Preferred: Experience in a strategy or project management role in an analytical environment (e.g. consulting, investment banking). Healthcare experience a plus, particularly with payors.
Work Environment and Physical RequirementsPhysical Demands- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking while working at a computer conducting meetings, or performing administrative duties.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 20 pounds, including luggage, presentation materials, and office equipment.
- Ability to navigate healthcare environments, including patient care settings, offices, and community locations, which may involve stair climbing, bending, reaching, and extended periods of walking.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reviewing reports, analyzing data, and operating standard office technology.
Communication- Effective communication skills in person, by telephone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
Travel- Willingness to travel up to 25% up time with variability driven by strategic initiatives and priorities
