Job Title: Vice President of HVAC Commercial Service
Location: Pasadena, CA
Position Type: Full-Time

The Vice President of HVAC Commercial Service is responsible for leading the overall performance of a service division by overseeing daily operations, business development, financial performance, and team leadership. This role is accountable for driving growth, maintaining operational excellence, supporting employees, and ensuring exceptional service delivery while meeting company objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Develop strategic plans that support operational efficiency, revenue growth, and long-term profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and support managers and field personnel while fostering a positive, accountable team environment.
  • Oversee the daily activities of service operations, ensuring projects and customer commitments are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership and other business units to share resources, improve processes, and implement operational best practices.
  • Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain employees while managing performance, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Drive business growth through sales leadership, customer relationship development, and new business opportunities.
  • Monitor financial performance by managing budgets, reviewing forecasts, controlling costs, and improving overall profitability.
  • Track and analyze operational metrics including safety performance, revenue, profitability, collections, workforce utilization, forecasting accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish performance goals for both operations and sales teams and implement action plans to achieve targeted results.
  • Coordinate staffing levels and resource allocation to maximize productivity while maintaining high-quality customer service.
  • Partner with service leadership to identify staffing needs, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee development and compensation planning.
  • Ensure all operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and quality standards.
  • Review project financials, pricing strategies, and job costs to ensure projects remain profitable and meet business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance service quality across the division.
  • Standardize project management and field execution practices to improve consistency and operational effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Approximately 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience within a commercial service, construction, or mechanical contracting environment.
  • Proven experience managing business operations, personnel, and financial performance.
  • Strong background in business development, client acquisition, and outside sales.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss management, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments while balancing operational and financial priorities.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning, project execution, and resource management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
