Vice President of Construction
Position Summary
The Vice President of Construction serves as the senior operational leader responsible for the overall execution, profitability, safety, quality, manpower planning, customer satisfaction, and strategic success of Precision Plumbing's Construction Project Management Division. This role provides executive leadership and accountability for all commercial and industrial plumbing projects through closeout.
The Vice President of Construction partners closely with the President and Executive Leadership Team to establish strategic direction, drive operational excellence, develop future leaders, strengthen customer relationships, improve consistency across all construction operations, and support the company's long-term growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the construction division, ensuring all commercial and industrial plumbing projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company objectives. This role leads and develops Project Management personnel, drives accountability and continuous improvement, and builds the leadership pipeline for future growth.
  • Overall project execution, financial performance, workforce planning, customer relationships, risk management, and operational excellence. Working closely with executive leadership, field operations, estimating, preconstruction, accounting, safety, and human resources, the Vice President of Construction ensures projects achieve profitability goals while maintaining high standards of quality, customer satisfaction, and safety.
  • Oversees project financials, forecasting, labor productivity, manpower allocation, change order management, client relations, and process improvement initiatives. The role also champions innovation through the implementation of construction technologies and operational systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the organization.
Success is measured by construction division profitability, gross profit margins, revenue growth, labor productivity, project performance, safety outcomes, customer retention, employee engagement, cash flow management, quality results, and the development of future leaders within the organization.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree either in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of construction leadership experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years in management or executive construction leadership roles.
  • Extensive experience with commercial and industrial plumbing construction projects.
  • Proven experience leading multiple project teams and large project portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of project management, field operations, contract administration, risk management, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing annual construction revenue exceeding $50 million (change to $100 million?) preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Vista, Bluebeam, and construction management technology.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites and customer locations as required.

Compensation

Annual salary: $160,000+ based on experience, qualifications, and skills demonstrated.
