Vice President of Business Operations
Washington, DC Area

This individual will be responsible for overseeing service delivery across our complete portfolio of accounts, providing support to account management, project delivery, and business operations, ensuring that our software development, application management, data analytics and cloud enablement services meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence and support our growth in the federal IT market. Candidate must live in the Washington, DC area.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
  • Be responsible and accountable for all the operational delivery across all our transportation and homeland security sector customers
  • Met regularly with customers to ensure customer satisfaction, identified risks, and facilitated resolutions with customer and direct reports.
  • Smooths organizational friction by understanding competing resources and priorities, helping teams to resolve conflicts, preparing the organization for the onboarding of new work, and maintaining operational and delivery excellence in all engagements.
  • Provide operational support, leadership, and guidance in the current and future business operations of the company
  • Lead a growing team of program, project, and technical leaders in providing best in class IT services
  • Identify and hire the absolute best talent we can find for our client delivery teams
  • Support, train, and mentor program and project managers for success in the performance of their work
  • Administer all facets of internal administration, planning, budget management, resource management, training, and performance across the company
  • Ensure internal processes are developed, observed, and enhanced as needed to improve on internal operation of the firm to deliver consistent outcomes contributing to customer service excellence. Provide guidance and oversight for all contract vehicles and all contract awards.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
  • 10+ years of experience leading/managing operations for a small business in the federal IT market.
  • An entrepreneurial desire to build a business
  • An informed opinion on what leadership is (and is not)
  • leadership philosophy/methodology
  • Experience collaborating with sales, business development, recruiting, contracts, and finance in the pursuit of new contracts/proposals
  • Experience collaborating with program managers, project managers, and clients to improve the delivery of services and create customer satisfaction
  • Experience in training and mentorship of project and program managers in the performance of their duties
  • Experience being responsible and accountable for P&L's
  • Expertise in SaaS/PaaS Implementation (notably Salesforce), Agile Software Development, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Cybersecurity.
  • Strong understanding of federal regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive operational efficiency.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial planning.
Nice to have's:
  • Proven track record of successfully leading business operations in the transportation and/or homeland security sectors.
  • PMP certification
