Description

Position Summary:

The VP Accounting is responsible for financial reporting, cash management, adherence to company accounting policies and internal controls and will oversee both property and corporate accounting activities. The VP Accounting will report to the SVP - Accounting and Finance and will be located at the Scottsdale, AZ corporate office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 9 property accountants and 6 corporate accountants.


Position responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for a portfolio of 40 senior living communities and all corporate company functions.
  • Monthly review of financials for accuracy, appropriate accruals and timely resolution of accounting matters for the 40 community portfolio and all corporate matters.
  • Lead activities of the property accounting department, including interaction with operations teams at the communities and regional VPs that contribute to the financial statements of the communities.
  • Lead the Cogir Corporate Accounting Department which manages the operations of all 120 communities. Report results to our parent company which is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.
  • Oversee the monitoring, forecasting and reporting of cash flow activity to ownership groups and corporate operations.
  • Oversee applicable distribution and contribution requirements.
  • Create an efficient month end closing process to assure financial reporting is reported timely to ownership groups.
  • Assure adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Monitor staffing levels and work assignments.
  • Other projects as assigned.
