Vice President, Health & Wellness

As a Vice President, Health & Wellness at Zeno Group, you will lead integrated communications programs across biotech, consumer health, medical devices and other areas of healthcare. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you will develop strategies grounded in a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, business priorities, and evolving stakeholder expectations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced communications leader to counsel clients, lead integrated programs, grow client relationships and mentor teams while contributing to the continued success of Zeno's Health & Wellness practice.

About the Role:
  • Health Communications Strategy & Client Leadership: Lead integrated communications strategies that connect client business priorities with stakeholder needs and measurable outcomes across complex healthcare environments.
  • Industry Expertise & Strategic Counsel: Serve as a trusted client advisor, applying knowledge of healthcare markets, regulatory considerations and communications trends to develop thoughtful recommendations and navigate evolving challenges.
  • Integrated Communications Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams across disciplines, helping translate strategy into cohesive programs and ensuring strong collaboration and execution.
  • Client Growth & Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships, introduce new capabilities and contribute to new business efforts across the Health & Wellness practice.
  • Account & Financial Management: Oversee account performance, budgets, forecasting, resources and deliverables while supporting strong client service and sustainable business performance.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where people can learn, grow and do their best work.
  • Innovation & Industry Insights: Stay informed on emerging healthcare, communications and cultural trends, bringing forward ideas and approaches that strengthen client programs.


About You:
  • 10+ years of experience in public relations, communications or related fields within an agency or similar environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in Health & Wellness communications.
  • Experience leading healthcare and wellness communications programs within complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of biotech, pharmaceutical, consumer health and/or medical device sectors, including relevant market dynamics and industry trends.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific, business and regulatory information into clear communications strategies and compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated success counselling
  • clients and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience developing integrated communications strategies and leading programs across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to grow client relationships and contributing to new business efforts.
  • Strong account and financial management skills, including experience managing budgets, scopes and resources.
  • Strong writing, storytelling and presentation skills, including experience presenting strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and developing team members.
  • Collaborative and adaptable leadership style with the ability to bring teams together around shared goals.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading integrated healthcare programs across earned, digital, social, creative and other communications disciplines.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations through significant business, regulatory or reputational moments.
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches, organic client growth or practice initiatives.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, data and AI-enabled approaches shaping healthcare communications.


This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Pay Range: $130,000 to $145,000 CAD/yr.

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on
several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education,
qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic
location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any
contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed
is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other
rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific
benefits. In accordance with Ontario's Employment Standards Act (ESA), salary
posting ranges can not exceed a $50,000 CAD differential and are required for
any role with a maximum salary below $200,000 CAD.
