The VP & GM is the senior leader responsible for the overall performance, growth, and operational excellence of Horton Automatics' rapidly expanding Supply, Install, and Service operations across North America. This high-impact role reports directly to the President of Horton Pedestrian Access Systems and will play a pivotal part in shaping our next era of growth. As a visible, influential leader, the VP & GM will steer strategic and operational excellence, accelerate nationwide expansion, and build a high-performance, customer-focused organization.
Responsibilities
People Leadership

Strategic Leadership
• Lead the creation and execution of strategic plans that unlock aggressive growth and market expansion.
• Balance customer loyalty with smart pricing, strong profitability, and disciplined financial management.
• Identify and accelerate high-value growth opportunities - including new geographies, acquisitions, service offerings, and product expansion.
• Oversee annual plans, budgets, and market strategies to achieve bold business objectives.
Operational & Fiscal Accountability
• Drive operational excellence through process optimization, innovation, and best-practice deployment.
• Expand operational capacity to support scale, efficiency, and safety across every location.
• Strengthen vendor and partner relationships to expand capabilities and product offerings.
• Implement performance benchmarks and analytics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Optimize resource utilization, including inventory, facilities, assets, budgets, and workforce planning.
• Ensure strong financial discipline aligned with Horton's growth strategy.
Qualifications
Ideal Background and Experience
• Demonstrated success leading a multi-site, high-mix specialty construction or field service organization in the building-solutions industry
• 10+ years progressive leadership roles; at least 5 years leading multi-site P&L organizations
• Strong commercial acumen across service, installation and project execution, including bidding, contracting, and negotiation
• Deep experience with P&L ownership and knowledge of margin management, pricing, job costing, and forecasting
• Proven track record in strategic planning, growth, change management and cultural transformation
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Prior acquisition and integration experience is an asset
Education
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or similar) preferred
• Equivalent industry experience may substitute for education in exceptional cases
Other
• Candidate must be available to travel domestically and internationally as required.
