Full Job Description
The Vice President, Global Outreach and Development position exists to maximize the reach and impact of Focus on the Family worldwide, by providing professional leadership and operational direction to the Global Ministry Development team, communicating regularly with the Regional and Associate Office directors, and representing Focus on the Family as a member of the Board of Directors for each Associate office as assigned by the Sr. Vice President of Global Ministry & Development. In addition, this position serves to explore new opportunities and relationships to accomplish Focus on the Family's vision of helping families thrive in Christ worldwide.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares operational plans in support of strategic mission and objectives


  • Negotiates and signs contracts for product licensing and publishing ventures as assigned by the COO


  • Negotiates and signs contracts for Associate Office agreements as assigned by the COO


  • Participates in budget process; monitors cost performance and initiates cost improvement actions when appropriate


  • Determines overall staffing levels based on ministry needs


  • Reviews and approves, or recommends for approval, requests for major non-recurring expense items


  • Resolves highly complex problems and problems between departments


  • Participates in general cabinet meetings as well as Executive Cabinet and Strategy Team meetings


  • Selects, develops, motivates, supervises, and evaluates staff


  • Reviews status progress reports and recommends appropriate actions


  • Stays abreast of business developments through research and study


Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Uses executive influence to bring departments and divisions together to achieve international goals


  • Develops productive, creative, and dynamic atmosphere for the staff to contribute their talents


  • Coaches Associate Offices toward self-sustainability


  • Maintains personal Case and Pre-case load of donors who are globally motivated


  • Hosts international Vision Trips with the purpose of raising awareness and funding to support the General Fund and Global Budget


  • Performs other duties as assigned


Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:

  • Manages a staff of approximately 8 employees, including 5 direct reports


Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment


  • Extensive travel domestically and internationally


  • This role may require occasional travel including nights and weekends

Pay Range: $129,168 to $151,234
