Full Job Description
Job Summary:

Advances the agency's mission by supporting strategic efforts to secure and sustain financial resources. Collaborates with leadership to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the agency's overall growth. Supports and contributes to all aspects of fundraising, including donor acquisition, cultivation & stewardship, grant support & collaboration, brokering key partnerships and executing special events. Assists leadership with developing, implementing, and monitoring organization's annual legislative and public policy agenda. Develops positive relationships and communicates organization's position on public policy with external and internal stakeholders.

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's degree: Preferred
  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred
  • Seven years' experience in fundraising, public, government or community relations: Preferred


Essential Functions:
  • Co-creates, implements, communicates, and supports comprehensive fundraising strategies that guide the facilities development initiatives towards achieving current fundraising goals and long term, sustainable growth under the guidance of leadership.
  • Personally identifies, cultivates, and solicits prospects capable of making major and principal gifts to organization. Manages a portfolio and executes on strategies related to individuals' prospects and donors with a capacity at major and principal gift levels $100k-$2.5M and up. Builds and manages an active portfolio of 100 prospect donor relationships. Crafts and oversees staff execution of comprehensive, multi-year strategies for annual, special, major, and principal gifts, for individual, corporate, and family foundation prospects, donors and cohorts.
  • Inspires and motivates the development team to perform at their best through guidance, mentorship, professional development and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Establishes a development infrastructure that can support fundraising goals. Stays informed about current trends and best practices, in fundraising and philanthropy through ongoing professional development and networking opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with state and local policymakers, government officials, and key stakeholders. Meets regularly with state elected officials and staff regarding overall healthcare public policy. Acts as a liaison between organization leadership and government officials, meeting regularly to educate and continually update regarding elected officials' policy issues. Works with organization's regulatory and legal leadership, together with state lobbyists on regulatory issues impacting the organization.
