Reporting to the President, Linde Canada the Vice President, Finance serves as the senior finance leader for the Canadian business and a key member of the Canadian leadership team. The Vice President, Finance will provide strategic and operational financial leadership across the business, partnering closely with senior management to shape business strategy, drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, strengthen controls, and ensure sound financial governance.
What you will enjoy doing* - In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to the President and senior leadership team, helping shape and execute the long-term business strategy for Linde Canada while providing insight into key opportunities, risks, and performance drivers
- You will lead the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, capital budgets, business reviews, and financial targets, ensuring strong alignment between financial results and business objectives
- A key focus will be monitoring business performance, analyzing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to support informed decision-making
- You will provide strategic financial guidance on major business initiatives, including capital investments, growth opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and other high-impact projects
- The role involves leading financial evaluations, business case development, and scenario analysis to support decisions related to expansion, diversification, mergers and acquisitions, and operational improvements
- You will oversee financial reporting, accounting practices, internal controls, compliance, and governance, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
- Strategic leadership of the procurement function is an important responsibility, helping drive value, efficiency, and alignment across the organization
- You will partner closely with global Tax and Treasury teams while maintaining oversight of working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit, collections, inventory performance, and cash flow
- The role also provides executive oversight for the Canadian IT function, supporting digitization, data integration, and technology-enabled business improvements across the organization
- As a senior leader, you will build and develop a high-performing Finance team, while providing guidance to business leaders on financial policies, controls, reporting requirements, performance expectations, and overall business results
What makes you great* - The role is ideal for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. An MBA, Master's degree in Finance, or professional accounting designation would be considered a strong asset
- You will bring 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility within a large, complex, or multinational organization
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or process-driven businesses is important, with the ability to connect financial performance to operational outcomes
- You will have a proven track record of leading finance organizations, driving strategic change, influencing business decisions, and supporting growth across multiple functions and stakeholder groups
- Experience with financial systems, planning tools, and enterprise reporting platforms is essential, while exposure to systems such as JDE, Hyperion, or similar solutions is considered an asset
- The role requires an understanding of technology-enabled business improvement, including experience supporting digitization, data integration, reporting automation, and process optimization initiatives
- You will be comfortable operating within a matrixed environment, building strong relationships, influencing senior leaders, and collaborating effectively across functions, regions, and stakeholder groups
- Strong communication, executive presence, and business partnering skills are critical, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Success in the role comes from balancing strategic thinking with operational execution, while effectively managing multiple priorities, leading through change, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
- You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including integrity, sound judgment, change leadership, customer and operational focus, and the ability to build high-performing teams while driving accountability and business performance
