Job Description:

We are seeking a Vice President - Energy Policy to serve as a senior policy analyst advising corporate clients and commercial stakeholders across the energy sector. This role is responsible for delivering strategic policy insights, analyzing regulatory and legislative developments, and helping corporate stakeholders understand the business implications of evolving energy policy.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical and communication skills, a strong understanding of the energy industry, and experience advising corporations, trade associations, consulting firms, or other commercial stakeholders on public policy matters. A successful candidate will be a highly qualified professional with at least 6-8 years of experience in energy policy analysis, corporate strategy, consulting, government affairs, regulatory affairs, investment banking, or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze the risks and opportunities presented to corporations by public policy, including regulation, legislation, government enforcement actions, and litigation
  • Develop sector expertise across energy industries, including clean energy, oil & gas, infrastructure & industrials, metals & mining, power & utilities, and clean fuels & transportation
  • Produce high-quality written analysis, presentations, and strategic briefings for corporate clients and executive stakeholders
  • Monitor and communicate policy developments that may impact business operations, growth strategy, investments, and competitive positioning
  • Advise corporate clients on regulatory trends, stakeholder engagement, operational impacts, and market implications of policy developments
  • Respond to client questions in a thoughtful and timely manner
  • Lead and participate in client meetings, conference calls, industry events, and business development initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support client deliverables and strategic initiatives


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise within the energy sector, including clean energy, oil & gas, infrastructure & industrials, metals & mining, power & utilities, and clean fuels & transportation
  • Ability to communicate complex policy and business issues clearly and effectively in writing, virtually, and in person

  • Ability to identify strategic business risks and opportunities resulting from public policy developments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Four-year bachelor's degree required
  • Graduate degree or CFA preferred
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in energy policy analysis, consulting, government affairs, regulatory affairs, corporate strategy, investment banking, or a related field
  • High academic achievement
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship
