Job Description

This role is part of an earned-first creative team, embedded within the client's internal agency. This person sits at the intersection of social strategy, creative development, and cultural intelligence, shaping work that shows up meaningfully in culture and stands apart for consumers, the industry, and press.

As VP/Director, Social Strategy, you'll partner closely with creative, social listening, influencer, PR, and brand teams to shape ideas, narratives, and executions across a growing portfolio of beauty industry brands.

You'll play a key role in identifying and translating cultural insights into strong creative POVs, pressure-testing ideas, and ensuring social-first thinking and creative integrity hold from early ideation through execution

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Developing sharp, culturally informed social and content strategies that ladder into broader brand and business objectives
  • Helping define and uphold the earned-first standard across social ideas, programs, and executions
  • Owning the internal sell-in of social-first creative strategies by setting clear social and cultural POVs and aligning creative, brand, and cross-functional teams around them.
  • Leading influencer and creator strategies, including POV development, casting guidance, and deliverable frameworks
  • Collaborating closely with creative teams to build ideas and tactics that are socially native, culturally resonant, and built to earn attention
  • Maintaining a strong pulse on pop culture, internet behavior, entertainment moments, and emerging social formats
  • Building strong relationships with brand partners, agency collaborators, creators, and third-party platforms
  • Representing the team in key meetings, working sessions, and presentations, including with senior stakeholders

Qualifications

We're looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in social, digital, PR, content, entertainment, publishing, brand, or advertising
  • Proven experience developing social-first and/or earned-media-driven creative strategies
  • A strong understanding of how content travels - including media planning, distribution, and amplification
  • Chronically online. Deep fluency across social platforms, creator ecosystems, and internet culture

  • Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategic POVs
  • The ability to build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external partners
  • A deep understanding of consumer behavior and cultural insight - you understand what makes people care, share, and participate
  • The ability to back creative instincts with sound strategic and analytical reasoning
  • Comfort operating with autonomy, judgment, and accountability in a fast-moving, evolving environment

Nice to have's:
  • Expertise in entertainment- and culture-driven social programming
  • A strong point of view on emerging technology, platforms, cultural trends, and content formats
  • Passion and/or excitement for Beauty and Personal Care.
