Position Summary:B Capital is seeking a Vice President/Director to join our
Capital Formation team, reporting to the Managing Director, Capital Formation. This is a
fundraising role, responsible for building relationships with strategic investors and raising capital across funds and co-investments. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of raising capital for private funds or private companies and can translate ideas into action in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Originate, drive, and close new LP commitments across institutional, family office, wealth management, and high-net-worth channels.
- Manage the full fundraising cycle: mapping the universe of prospects, sourcing and nurturing relationships, leading outreach, and coordinating diligence through to close.
- Partner with the MD of Capital Formation, Investor Relations team and investment leadership to refine fund positioning and tailor messages to different LP segments.
- Prepare and customize fundraising materials (presentations, data room content, DDQs, RFPs, track-record and portfolio analyses) in support of capital-raising efforts.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline and CRM discipline, including tracking interactions, feedback, and probability-weighted opportunities.
- Leverage and deepen relationships with gatekeepers and intermediaries (consultants, private banks, placement agents, and other capital partners) to expand the firm's reach.
- Represent B Capital at LP meetings, conferences, and industry events, serving as a credible, front-line fundraiser for the platform.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:- 6-10 years of capital-raising experience in venture capital, private equity, private credit, or adjacent alternatives, ideally in one or more of the following:
- Fundraising/capital formation at a PE/VC or alternative investment manager
- Fundraising at a placement agent firm
- Private company fundraising or private capital advisory at an investment bank or a leading private tech company
- Demonstrated experience raising capital from Endowments, Foundations, Pension Funds, Funds of Funds, Wealth Managers, and/or Family Offices.
- BS/BA degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Strong project-management skills and comfort running multiple fundraising processes in parallel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for sophisticated institutional audiences.
- High degree of professionalism, judgment, and discretion in handling LP relationships.
- Role can be based in San Francisco or Los Angeles.
- Experience in technology investing and/or keen interest in technology is highly desired

The salary range is $300,000 to $500,000 and will be commensurate with relevant experience.
