Full Job Description
The Vice President will be responsible for driving the Society’s high level fundraising activities for a large, priority geographic area, including management of a large team of fundraising professionals. This role is responsible for the achievement of aggressive revenue targets through leveraging external relationships for corporate engagement, major gifts and fundraising events. This role is accountable for the engagement of executive leadership volunteers (Area Board, CEOs Against Cancer Chapters, event leadership teams) and driving integration with our mission pillars of Discovery, Patient Support & Advocacy. Accountable for a highly complex area that includes: 1-3 top 35 MSAs, often with surrounding geography and secondary markets Large number of F500 headquarters & large health systems Significant pipeline of individual wealth Large staff team including corporate and philanthropy directors Multiple $500K+ mega events Top media market Transformational revenue growth opportunity & expectations A minimum of $10M in revenue accountability **This is a remote/work from home role with requirements to be out and around New York City regularly. Ideal candidate will reside in one of the boroughs or within a very reasonable commutable distance to NYC.** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Drivesaggressive revenue growth expectations through multi-faceted, multi-year corporate partnerships, individual andfoundation major gifts, andmega events ($500K+).20% - Leadsdonor-centricrevenue generationdirectly,andthrough leadership ofateam of fundraising professionals,leveragingvolunteer engagement and relationship management. 20% - Recruitsand managesinfluentialArea Board(s) and/or aCEOsAgainst CancerChapter comprisedof executiveleaders andcommunityinfluencers;ensures executive engagement in event chair roles. 15% - Identifiesand secures large-scale opportunities, guiding prospects from initialengagement through commitment and execution. Builds andmaintainssignificant C-suite relationships to secure transformational 6- and 7-figure gifts.15% - Serves as a lead relationship manager, “elevator”,and “closer” for top tier accounts and partnerships. 15% - Contributes to regional strategyas a key member of the Region Leadership teamand serves as a member of theenterprise leadershipVP+team(OneACS)with accountability fororganizationalinitiatives. 10% - Drivesintegration with our mission pillars of Discovery, Patient Support & Advocacy. 5% EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum Degree Preferred:Bachelor’sDegreeor Equivalent - Years of experience:10+years fundraisingand teamleadership,salesmanagementor equivalent experiencewith multi-million-dollartargets KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: - Leadswith a growth mindset, setting and achieving ambitious year-over-year revenue goals. - Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that drive significant revenue growth across multiple channels. - Significantexpertiseand experiencein building and maintaininglong-term relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, with a focus on donor engagement and retention. - Proventrack recordsoliciting and closing large 6- and 7-figure gifts - Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and motivating high-performing development teams to achieve ambitious fundraising goals. - Proficient in using donor data and analytics to inform strategy, track performance, andoptimizefundraising efforts. - Skilled inleveragingboard members and volunteers as fundraising ambassadors and partners in donor outreach. - Ability torepresentthe organization as a spokesperson, including through media channels - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support and deliver persuasive presentations to diverse audiences. - Ability toidentify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with corporations, foundations, and community organizations. - Experience leading high-impact fundraising events, from concept through execution, with a focus onC-suite chair recruitment,return oninvestmentand donor experience. - Strong financial acumen to manage fundraising budgets, forecast revenue, and ensure cost-effective operations. - Creative thinker with the ability to adapt fundraising strategies in response to changing donor behaviors and market conditions. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: - Regular overnight travel toarea,region & enterprisemeetingsand events PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - No specific physical requirements The starting rate is $175,000 to $210,000 . The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
