The opportunity

The Vice President, Community Giving & Operations is a senior executive leader responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, operational excellence, and fundraising innovation across community giving, signature events, annual giving, digital fundraising, and fundraising operations. Overseeing a portfolio generating more than $10M annually, this role leads the development and execution of strategies that expand donor and community engagement, strengthen fundraising performance, and support long-term organizational growth.

As a member of the Executive Committee and Operations Leadership Team, the Vice President provides enterprise leadership in strategic planning, fundraising operations, business intelligence, and technology-enabled fundraising. Working collaboratively across the Foundation and KHP, the role ensures revenue-generating initiatives, operational priorities, and donor engagement strategies are aligned with organizational goals, funding priorities, and long-term sustainability objectives. The responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Community Giving and Operations, aligning events, annual giving, fundraising operations, digital fundraising, and community partnerships with organizational priorities and long-term revenue growth goals.
  • Lead annual and multi-year planning, revenue strategy, performance measurement, and business intelligence to drive fundraising growth and executive decision-making.
  • Oversee Events and Annual Giving portfolios, ensuring achievement of revenue targets and delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship, and engagement strategies.
  • Champion digital transformation and fundraising innovation, leveraging technology, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance donor engagement and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide executive oversight of fundraising operations, including systems, data governance, reporting, forecasting, and enterprise fundraising platforms.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, Board, and committees, providing strategic insights, revenue analysis, and support for governance and fundraising initiatives.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders to expand philanthropic opportunities and community engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation, representing the organization at events and supporting integrated marketing, communications, and fundraising initiatives.

The qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, operations, annual giving, community partnerships, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of delivering $10M+ in annual philanthropic revenue across diversified fundraising channels, ideally including events, annual giving, digital fundraising, and community partnerships.
  • Strong expertise in operational planning, financial management, data-informed decision-making, and governance support.
  • Strong enterprise systems thinking, with the ability to connect fundraising strategy, technology, data, donor experience, finance, marketing, and operational execution.
  • Proven ability to lead transformation, including operating model change, technology adoption, process redesign, culture change, and cross-functional implementation
  • Deep knowledge of fundraising platforms such as Raiser's Edge NXT, Raisin, Mailchimp, CRM/data systems, and data-driven fundraising strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary teams with strategic vision, operational discipline, and a strong people leadership orientation.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with community partners, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and board-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and donor-centricity across the Foundation.


Preferred / Advantageous:
  • Experience leading through organizational transformation, campaign transitions, technology implementation, or operating model change.
  • Background in digital fundraising, AI/ML-enabled innovation, integrated marketing, or audience segmentation strategies.
  • Familiarity with Imagine Canada standards, CRA regulations, fundraising compliance, and national-scale nonprofit financial operations.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and media representation skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a significant asset.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or equivalent designation is an asset.
