Job Summary

The Vice President, Claims is responsible for managing complex claims across the firm's specialty insurance portfolio, including Representations & Warranties (RWI), Tax Liability, Structured Solutions, and Credit products. Reporting to the Head of Claims, this role serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, helping navigate complex coverage matters while delivering exceptional claims service throughout the claim lifecycle.

The VP works closely with insurers, brokers, legal counsel, and clients to facilitate efficient claim resolution, support business development efforts, and contribute to the continued enhancement of the firm's claims capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of complex specialty claims from first notice through resolution, providing strategic guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, insurers, outside counsel, and other stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and driving favorable claim outcomes.
  • Analyze policy language, evaluate coverage positions, and assist in developing claim strategies for complex or high-value matters.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, broking, and operations teams to identify claims trends, improve internal processes, and support product development and client service initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate claims documentation, prepare reporting and claim summaries, and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Head of Claims with special projects, operational initiatives, market relationships, and the ongoing development of the firm's specialty claims function.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transactional risk, M&A, corporate finance, strategy consulting, commercial contracts, insurance, legal, or a related professional services environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex contractual, financial, and legal issues.
  • Experience managing sophisticated commercial matters involving multiple stakeholders and competing interests.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate development, or transaction advisory engagements.
  • Familiarity with Representations & Warranties Insurance, Tax Liability Insurance, Structured Solutions, Credit Insurance, or other specialty risk transfer products.
  • Experience reviewing commercial agreements, conducting due diligence, or assessing contractual or financial risk.
  • Professional designation or advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, CPA, CFA, CPCU, AIC, or equivalent).
