WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

The VP of Business Transformation and Organizational Change Management will join AVI-SPL as a catalyst for growth and evolution at a pivotal timeframe, as AVI-SPL continues to invest in digital transformation and process modernization to create competitive advantage in the Digital Enablement Solutions marketplace. This individual will be responsible for the continued elevation of the Business Transformation, Change Management and Knowledge Management (“L&D”) functions as partners for the company’s growth and strategic objectives and will be critical to the overall execution of AVI-SPL’s long-term strategic vision.

 

The VP of Business Transformation and OCM acts as the bridge between business strategy and people adoption and will work with stakeholders to innovate process and operations. This role will guide employees through complex changes while keeping productivity high and employee engagement strong.

Reporting directly to the CIO, a top priority in the first 24-36 months will be supporting the implementation of Project Unity, AVI-SPL’s enterprise-wide foundational deployment of process and technology (Microsoft Dynamics) in support of realizing transactional platform scalability and strategic growth goals on a global basis. This leader will also play a critical role in enabling scalable growth through M&A integration and the associated expansion of enterprise/global application platforms.

 

Accordingly, the individual will be expected to provide hands-on Sr. Managerial leadership in directing the global implementation of Business Transformation and Organizational Change Management initiatives in alignment with AVI-SPL’s strategic plan, including growth goals and operating margin targets. This will require a collaborative, energetic and entrepreneurial mindset, driven to implement a “Culture of Transformation” benefitting customers, employees and shareholders. The individual will demonstrate the requisite change management, leadership and technical capabilities to drive strategic and operational improvements enabling realization of scalable growth and operating margin improvement targets, while simultaneously ensuring that stakeholder needs are managed appropriately.

 

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Play a lead role in digital transformation initiatives, including both process and technology innovation, with a focus on improving ways of working to deliver operational improvements in the form of quality, productivity and cost optimization driving YoY progressive financial outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior business leaders to identify, prioritize and champion ongoing Business Transformation and Change Management initiatives (i.e., FPP) that enable multi-year growth and operational goals including scalability and excellence in customer and end-user experience.
  • Drive organizational scale across geographic regions and lines of business through standardization of disparate and decentralized processes, as well as global consistency in ways of working.
  • Define enterprise-wide change frameworks. Lead OCM efforts to ensure team buy-in and build confidence in new methods of working. Assess organizational readiness, manage stakeholder impacts, and minimize dips in productivity during major transitions.
  • Establish and formalize AVI-SPL’s Continuous Improvement (CI) program, actively seeking to standardize/scale processes to achieve (financial) gains in areas such as capacity/resource utilization, work simplification, organizational design, performance measurement systems, and productivity improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted member of the CIO’s leadership team, providing insight into Change Management trends and opportunities and their impact on operational scalability.
  • Apply structured methodologies, including but not limited to (Lean) Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA and Prosci ADKAR, to act as a change agent and lead the execution of enterprise-wide change management initiatives.
  • Provide business transformation and change management support for AVI-SPL’s AI Center of Excellence (COE), leading the tech and cultural evolution of the AVI-SPL workforce into an AI-first organization. Design the change strategy to integrate generative AI, automation and data-driven workflows into daily execution. Ensure cultural readiness to ensure high adoption and measurable ROI. Align technology deployments with business line readiness.
  • Develop and implement business transformation and operational excellence metrics related to the scope of responsibilities, including championing the use of analytics to improve speed and quality of decision making across the enterprise.
  • Work with learning teams to build training programs. Draft clear, consistent messages so staff understand why the changes are happening.
  • Partner with Information Technology and the Strategic Governance Committee (SGC) to ensure that proposed enhancements to the ecosystem are aligned with scalable operating models.
  • Contribute to development of longer-term Change Management and IT Strategy Roadmaps and supporting Organizational Structure to ensure alignment with AVI-SPL long-term Strategic Plan.
  • Identify potential risks in the transformation plan related to adoption of change, anticipating points of resistance, and developing specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
  • Proactively coach and mentor others on the principles of change management and concepts of continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

Must-Haves:

 

  • 15-20+ years of hands-on leadership driving Business Transformation, Organizational Change Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives at scale on a global / enterprise level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Track record of leveraging change management disciplines and methodologies to align business processes, technology, and data to drive measurable transformation
  • Strong presence with demonstrated relationship building skills (C-Suite, Senior Leaders, internal stakeholders); ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization, including leadership of multidiscipline, cross-functional, high-performance work teams/groups
  • Skilled at navigating cross-functionally across high-accountability cultures where collaboration is expected and aligning stakeholders around business outcomes.
  • Track record of building effective relationships through direct, clear, and confident communication. Able to influence teams and senior stakeholders outside of reporting lines (incl. long-tenured leaders and newer managers) to drive outcomes without benefit of direct reports.
  • Execution-driven, hands-on, and comfortable stepping into active programs.
  • Stable presence with strong judgment and decision quality.
  • Inquisitive, data-oriented, and focused on practical – and measurable – outcomes.
  • Able to “build the plane while flying;” balance near-term delivery and long-term transformation.
  • Well-developed quantitative, qualitative, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated competency in planning, strategy, decision making, thought leadership and delivering results.
  • Familiarity with project and process methodologies such as Agile, Asana, and DMAIC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps), visualization and diagramming tools.
  • Experience with recurring-services businesses – i.e., managed or hybrid services providers
  • Experience delivering measured cost savings via organizational transformation, elimination of waste, and quality improvements.
  • Certified Six-Sigma Black Belt preferred, including 10+ years of Lean Enterprise experience, utilizing both DMAIC/DMADV (existing processes) and DFSS methodologies (new products/processes).
  • Proven background in securing executive level leadership buy-in, sponsorship and investment through strong articulation of business benefits aligned to broader organizational strategy.
  • Oversight for leadership/execution of multiple large-scale programs with stated value critical to the delivery of business strategies and goals, incl. on time, on budget deliveries.
  • Demonstrated success modernizing legacy environments comprised of significant tech/data/process “debt” and contributing to the construction of scalable process and digital foundations.
  • Competency in Business Technology Solutions Architecture; strong process acumen, incl. Prospect/Quote/Order-to-CASH, Procure-to-Pay, Fulfillment-to-Ship, etc.
  • Experience with ERP deployments in globally distributed environments
  • Experience leading business transformation and change management across M&A integration
