General Summary

The Vice President, Business Planning & Administration provides executive leadership and operational oversight across corporate services including, Human Resources, Business Planning and Organizational Management, IT, Communications, and Government Services. This role partners with the CEO and senior leadership to translate organizational strategy into operating plans, budgets, and people practices; ensures efficient, compliant, and customer-focused administrative services; and builds scalable processes, systems, and teams that support growth. The VP drives cross-functional alignment, risk management, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and high performance.

Work Location

The position will be 1) based in the Chicagoland area at the GTI Energy Headquarters, or 2) remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise the Enterprise leadership team on organizational strategy, operating model, resourcing, and priorities; diagnose root causes of performance gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Lead enterprise business planning (strategic planning, annual operating plan, KPIs/OKRs, dashboards); identify performance issues early, analyze drivers, and ensure clear accountability and timely reporting.
  • Oversee Human Resources strategy and operations, including talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations and retention, performance management, learning and development, Culture, and policy governance.
  • Drive leadership succession and workforce planning and organizational design in partnership with functional leaders; ensure succession planning for critical roles and healthy leadership pipelines.
  • Management oversight and planning for IT.
  • Management oversight and strategic priorities for Communications.
  • Coordinate Board of Directors activities and governance processes in partnership with the CEO; identify issues early, clarify decision points, and drive timely follow-up on actions and risks.
  • Partner with Finance to align planning, headcount, and departmental budgets; monitor variances and implement corrective actions to meet operational and strategic targets.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives across administrative functions, standardizing processes, improving service levels, and leveraging automation/analytics to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Manage sensitive investigations and risk mitigation in coordination with Legal.
  • Build, coach, and lead high-performing teams; set clear goals, develop talent, and create an inclusive, respectful environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Executive leadership experience leading multiple functions and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Experience preparing materials and presenting to Boards of Directors
  • Strong strategic planning and business performance management skills, including KPI/OKR design, analytics, and executive-level reporting.
  • Knowledge of HR disciplines (talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, learning and development) and employment law compliance.
  • Experience with teams (IT and Strategic Communications) to set roadmaps, manage vendors, and deliver secure, reliable platforms and effective organizational communications.
  • Ability to manage external stakeholder relationships and develop effective strategies and oversee execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong facilitation, negotiation, and change management capabilities.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management responsibility across two or more administrative/business functions - ideally in a project-based business with at least some reliance on federal funding.
  • Experience executing HR strategy and operations, including talent management, total rewards, and employee relations in a complex organization.
  • Experience building and executing strategic/operating plans, establishing KPIs, and improving performance through data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong familiarity with and/or participation in the enablement of technology and/or communications functions, including vendor management, project delivery, and stakeholder communications.


Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $230,000 - $300,000 USD annually. This salary range is GTI Energy's good faith estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, GTI Energy's business or organizational needs and an individual's relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus. The range listed is just one component of GTI Energy's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits.
