Full Job Description
Woodland Veterinary Hospital is seeking a forward-thinking, business-savvy Hospital Administrator to join our established, 9-doctor practice.

This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in business operations, finance, and multi-team management-someone with strong financial acumen who is confident managing a P&L, delegating effectively, and driving long-term strategy. You'll partner closely with our Hospital Manager and medical leadership to oversee the hospital's financial performance, streamline operations, and support a positive, growth-oriented culture.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at managing department leads, building programs to enhance marketing and operations, and navigating change thoughtfully in a well-established environment. Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Financial Leadership: Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data-informed decisions.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Direction: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long-term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships.
  • Project & Facility Management: Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
  • Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Schedule, benefits and compensation**:
  • This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.
  • Compensation: $80-95k annual base salary.* We are open to discussing compensation for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Your Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience required.
  • Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; medical, dental, or healthcare practice management experience also considered.
  • Previous veterinary experience (e.g., Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or Client Service Representative) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.
