Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
• Appropriate state licensure required.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Consistent professional demeanor with staff and clients.
• Physical ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds, and over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals for diseases or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect as well as interpret diagnostic results.
• Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgeries and prescribe medications when necessary.
• Provide guidance on end of life care for pets.
• Maintain accurate medical records for patients.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, statutes, policies, and procedures.
