Hickory Small Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director to join our AAHA accredited team in Ponchatoula, LA.

About You

As a leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and growth. Your influence will shape our vision, foster an exceptional culture, and maintain high standards of care. Partnering with the practice manager and leadership team, you'll develop strategies, implement improvements, and guide our hospital towards excellence in patient and client care, while supporting staff development.

You'll support and mentor veterinarians at your hospital toward achieving medical excellence and enhancing patient care and outcomes through close collaboration with practice managers and hospital leadership. With our comprehensive support, you'll be empowered to perform at your best. Utilize leadership training resources and mentorship programs to develop your skills and advance your career.

The success of your patients' care matters to you, and your success matters to us. Our progressive compensation model includes a highly competitive base salary, with quarterly production compensation, and a Medical Director stipend - plus, no negative accrual!

You're willing and able to lead an established, multi-doctor team, mentor and develop clinical talent, drive medical quality, and partner with leadership to continue advancing hospital growth and operational excellence.

About Hickory Small Animal Hospital

We're an AAHA-accredited, full-service small animal general practice located in Ponchatoula, LA focusing on wellness and preventive care, vaccinations, dentistry, diagnostics, surgery, grooming, and boarding. Our hospital has a collaborative, tenured, and team-oriented work environment and a loyal, established, and growing client base across Ponchatoula, Hammond, and Springfield.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality medicine, maintaining strong client relationships, and continuously investing in our people, technology, and medical protocols as one of the most trusted and advanced hospitals in the region since opening in 2009. Leadership, mentorship, adaptability, and a commitment to AAHA standards of care are all equally important.

We are open Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays 7:30 am to 12:00 pm, serving the Ponchatoula, Hammond, and Springfield communities.
