Job Description: Vertical Market Leader - Data Centers

SUMMARY

The Vertical Market Leader (VML) is responsible to define, manage and promote unique system solutions (products and services) and to directly and indirectly influence strategic customers to achieve target revenue and margin growth. Includes specifying engineers, design consultants, architects, general contractors, mechanical contractors, consultants, commissioning agents and building owners/end users about the targeted system solutions. Obtains and advises business intelligence for key market information. Collaborates with sales and marketing for value proposition, brand promise and customer experience and satisfaction. This position can be based out of Columbia, MD, Pittsburgh, PA or Richmond, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to and execute sales strategies to win business; influences market by promoting total system solutions (products and services).
  • Establish target customers, manage customer relationships and corresponding business-development/sales goals and action plans. Measure and report progress and results.
  • Contributes and executes approved sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with targeted customers to develop a pipeline of projects with corresponding support firms.
  • Maintain target account contacts database and relationships with key-decision makers and buying influencers.
  • Responsible for gathering customer feedback and market intelligence to influence performance and customer service.
  • Actively manage pipeline in CRM and schedule pipeline review with key stakeholders.
  • Communicates project and customer milestones and support requirements to all key stakeholders within the business.
  • Provide customer pre- and post-sales support; Actively support sales teams to ensure the best possible approach and project strategy is implemented.
  • Follows up with buying influencers to help secure orders.
  • Represent and present the business via professional associations and trade events.
  • Identify and contribute to target customer training and education opportunities.
  • Contributes and deploys targeted marketing campaigns collectively with key stakeholders; Contribute collateral for Marketing purposes.
  • Support and contribute to a collaborative culture across all Havtech business units.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree required in a technical or business-related field.
  • Five years of experience in Sales, Engineering or Marketing. Existing knowledge of Data Center industry and Account contacts needed.
  • CEM, LEED AP, PE, MBA accreditations or certificates preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Demonstrated good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel within a defined region at least 20% of the time.
  • Ability to function independently and deliver results.
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule including evening activities and events.
  • CRM/Spreadsheet experience.
