Position Description:Manage Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) department, office, and/or project across multiple office location(s) or large client projects, and lead business development, preconstruction, engineering, purchasing, and field installation of VDC project deliverables.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage standards and delivery practices of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) department budgets and estimates across multiple offices, including forecasting and actuals for third-party resources, employee costs, hardware and software purchases for approval. Track and report departmental financial performance, including profit and loss metrics. Review and approve project VDC budgets.
  • Maintain standard approach of VDC action plans, schedules, and bids in alignment with project goals and Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Guide leaders and Business Development teams across assigned offices to set standards for alignment and delivery of VDC Services & Rate Menu and highlight VDC capabilities to provide insight into opportunities that align VDC services with strategic client RFP responses.
  • Develop communication and grow relationships with project leadership to ensure success of VDC service deliveries. Visit job sites to advance conversations and resolve VDC related challenges.
  • Define, implement, and keep current VDC Services & Rates Menu to support development and communication of VDC capabilities and benefits to clients and stakeholders, working in collaboration with local VDC management teams.
  • Collaborate with VDC management teams, local Human Resources, and Operations leadership to develop workforce plans for capacity planning and scheduling work assignments of staff resources in consideration of business needs and employee succession and career development plans. Promote mobility and sharing of staff for opportunities across profit centers.
  • Collaborate with HR Talent Acquisition team to define standards for identifying staffing internal and external requirements and candidate pipeline to fulfill workforce planning assignments. Participate in hiring process, including interviewing and candidate selection feedback.
  • Oversee VDC staff resources for performance and development, identifying appropriate training to help with employee development needs and engage with local VDC management teams to promote consistent training across multiple offices or large projects.
  • Network with external industry groups to identify and pursue VDC revenue workstreams for enterprise and innovation opportunities to be utilized across multiple offices. Collaborate with VDC and office leadership to promote and identify opportunities to implement emerging technologies and potential growth areas within VDC services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with repeat clients across multiple offices and advise VDC leadership on client program and opportunities.
  • Work in collaboration with Finance and Operations teams to identify opportunities for VDC reimbursement, audit time tracking, and alignment to appropriate cost center to maximize reimbursement.
  • Review Trade subcontractor organizations' digital capabilities, history, and participation across projects and collaborate with VDC leadership and local Procurement team to build successful partnerships.
  • Encourage team contributions for continuous improvement of VDC processes and deliverables, evaluate and implement improvements to VDC tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Research and collect data from pilots of digital tools to evaluate opportunities for in-house development. Vet, complete proof of concept and prioritize most impactful tools for review with VDC leadership's approval to implement across multiple offices.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Construction Management, VDC, Architectural, Engineering, or related field of study, and minimum 12 years of related experience, and with progressive exposure to design, cost, sequence, logistics, and field installations of project components as it relates to VDC, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of VDC tools and applications in construction, cost, scheduling, estimating, and coordination principles
  • Construction management experience (e.g., Superintendent, Foreman) and working with Trades, desired
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Able to establish, forecast, and manage to budget
  • Able to develop workforce and capacity plans
  • Advanced project management expertise, able to develop, communicate and implement processes
  • Complex decision-making and problem-solving skills, with ability to assess analytical data for informed decisions
  • Able to work in intradisciplinary, complex environment and manage multiple project teams
  • Knowledge of economic and social issues, trends, impacts to local community and trades
