Full Job Description
Perform day-to-day operational support for the VCF private cloud platform under established procedures and guidance.
Support administration of SDDC Manager, workload domains, and vSphere cluster operations.
Execute routine platform tasks such as host adds/removals, cluster maintenance, certificate updates, and health checks.
Assist with VCF lifecycle operations including patching, upgrades, and remediation activities.
Provision infrastructure resources and support deployment of workload domains and virtual machine hosting environments.
Monitor platform health, utilization, and capacity; escalate risks, threshold concerns, and recurring issues to senior engineers or the Platform Manager.
Participate in incident response as a first responder for infrastructure and platform issues.
Support maintenance of infrastructure-as-code templates, standard builds, and golden VM images.
Cross-train across compute, storage, and networking components within VCF.
Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support knowledge articles.
Schedule & Presence: This on-site role supports 24/7 operations through real-time collaboration, standard shifts occur within a 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM window, Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position requires scheduled on-call flexibility and the ability to remain reasonably reachable during off-hours for critical business continuity.
Preferred Qualifications
VMware certification such as VCP-VCF or VCP-DCV.
Exposure to SDDC Manager operations.
Familiarity with vSAN and NSX concepts.
Exposure to enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.
Experience supporting standardized virtual server hosting environments.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure operations, virtualization, or systems administration.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere administration.
Experience managing ESXi hosts, clusters, and virtual machines.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and repeatable deployment methods.
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration.
Experience with at least one scripting or automation tool such as PowerCLI, Python, or Ansible.
Understanding of core datacenter concepts including compute, storage, networking, patching, and monitoring.
Ability to support operational tasks in a production environment with attention to change control and service stability.
