Full Job Description
The Role

SF is the 2nd market we're focusing on (after founding in London) and our most important GTM motion. We've already got a small team on the ground - but now we're doubling down and growing headcount to scale + service the market demand for Jill.

The immediate job is acquisition: get SF-headquartered companies onto the platform. That means working rooms, running events, doing outbound, talking to founders, and converting relationships into sign-ups.

We're specifically looking for someone to build and scale our VC & Ecosystem Partnerships channels as one of our acquisition strategies.

We explicitly look for "T-shaped" operators at Jack & Jill - you should be great at a lot of things, and genuinely incredible at a one or two things. For this role, we expect your network (+ how you leverage it into revenue) to be your key spikes.

Jack & Jill is ~20 people, $20m raised, headquartered in London (8 hours ahead of SF). This person operates independently, reports into the CRO (K), and builds the playbook as they go.

Who We're Looking For

We think there's a few kinds of profiles that would especially excel in this role:
  1. VC Platform & Ecosystem Leaders
You've worked inside a fund, built relationships with portfolio founders, and understand how to make Jack & Jill an easy referral for a platform team to make
  2. VC, PE, or Startup Channel Sales & PartnershipsYou've built revenue-generating relationships with VC and PE funds before. You know how to get in front of time-poor platform teams, align incentives, and convert a fund's goodwill into booked revenue in their portfolio
  3. Community / Events / Ecosystem SuperconnectorYou've built a room and then monetised it. Events are the input; signed accounts are the output. Ideally combined with fund or commercial experience
Must Haves
  • Day 1 network - genuine relationships with SF investors and platform teams who will actively refer you into portfolio companies. Not just people who'll reply; people who'll act
  • Commercial instincts - you convert warm intros into signed accounts, know how to structure a referral programme, and track channel pipeline with the same discipline as a quota carrier
  • Autonomous by default - HQ is 8 hours ahead. You run your own day and know where to find the highest leverage
Nice to Haves
  • Tier-1 fund experience. You've either worked directly in the fund, or have interacted significantly with them as a founder/operator. In short - you understand how these partnerships work.
  • Founding experience - a high percentage of our team have founded their own things in the past. Ideally this is more than just a side-project.
  • Background in HR Tech or Talent
The Process
  • Comp: $180k-$300k total package, flexible on cash/equity split
  • Location: San Francisco, hybrid in-office
  • Initial screen: 20 - 30 mins with Ben Norton (Ada Ventures, one of our investors)
  • Interview: Kaoru Fujita (hiring lead)
  • Day trial: In San Francisco with the broader team - Matt, Bruno, and Kaoru where schedules align
  • Right to work: US right to work strongly preferred. Visa sponsorship is possible in exceptional cases but will slow the process - please flag early if relevant
