Job Description

We are seeking a Value Stream Specialist to lead a team of highly skilled manufacturing employees within our Advanced Composites Manufacturing facility. This production line supports the manufacturing of various aerospace components.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for directly managing and supervising the day-to-day execution of manufacturing operations while driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will play a key role in developing team capability, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Please Note: This position supports 2nd Shift and includes a 10% shift differential premium.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 20-25 manufacturing employees to achieve production and performance objectives.
  • Drive workforce planning activities, including staffing, retention, and hiring.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members through performance management and career development planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with leadership, operations, engineering, quality, and facilities teams to resolve issues and drive results.
  • Lead execution of manufacturing performance metrics related to quality, delivery, and cost, using key performance indicators to guide decision-making and strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with 1st Shift leadership to ensure seamless transition and execution of daily production schedules.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Required Skills and Education

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing production environment, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with value stream management, lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and people management capabilities, with a strong focus on coaching and employee development.


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience in a high-rate manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
