Caterpillar’s Earthmoving division is hiring for a Global Value Chain Engineering Manager in Peoria, IL!

Role Summary: In this role you will manage engineering support to design product value chain and resource planning working with logistics, operations, product and process engineering, product support and lifecycle management to achieve customer availability requirements and internal financial commitments.

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

Portfolio Leadership: 

  • Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for value chain engineering teams; motivating and developing projects and team leaders.
  • Drive year-over-year improvements by defining, establishing, and meticulously monitoring project management goals.

Worldwide Competitive Targets:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional team members to develop and set ambitious world-wide, competitive-based product cost targets.
  • Harness the power of teamwork to achieve and maintain global leadership positions that keep us at the forefront of industry competitiveness.

Cross-Functional Leadership: 

  • Take the lead on high-value value chain projects, guiding cross-functional teams to success.
  • Be the driving force behind achieving cost reduction targets, ensuring that each project contributes significantly to our overall success.

Building Strong Relationships:

  • Establish, nurture, and sustain robust working relationships across our diverse business partners.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration and trust, where strong relationships are the foundation for achieving common goals.

What You Have (Core Skills)

  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Managing Multiple Projects: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadline and deliver results. Ability to juggle various projects with competing priorities, maintaining focus, and driving progress across all initiatives.

  • Work location: Peoria, IL

  • Travel: 10-15% domestic
  • This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)


 

Summary Pay Range:

$159,120.00 - $238,680.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
