Job Description
  • Perform culture-based potency assays and PCR assays on live vaccine products, process intermediates, and related experimental sample
  • Prepare solutions and culture media
  • Prepare and pipette small volume solutions
  • Maintain multiple cell lines as needed
  • Maintain records and test results following good manufacturing practices (GMP)
  • Author and/or review scientific reports, SOPs, and assay procedures
  • Work independently and efficiently
  • Document work clearly and perform tests accurately
  • Communicate effectively with client staff members
  • Experience with ELISA, PCR, and other cell-based assays
  • Provide analytical assay/technical support for new and in-line vaccine programs
  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional project teams
  • Perform analysis of vaccine products and process intermediates utilizing various analytical techniques
  • Effectively summarize and present results and recommendations at meetings and technical review sessions


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, virology, biochemistry or other related degree concentration with 5 years' experience, Master’s degree with 3 years' experience, or PhD.
  • Experience with cell culture, aseptic technique, ELISA, PCR, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Western Blot, Southern blot, Cell biology and/or virology
  • Strong laboratory/bench skills including pipettes and automation, with previous experience independently and collaboratively designing, executing and interpreting the results of analytical assays


Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., weekend work might be expected. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PAare encouraged to apply.
