Full Job Description
About the Role:

SecurityScorecard is hiring a UX Director to lead the Product Design & Research organization through a fundamental shift in how design gets done: AI-native, codebase-anchored, and embedded directly into product-line teams. This is a rebuild, not a maintenance role. You'll set design strategy at the executive level, reshape how the team operates day to day, and personally model what AI-first design leadership looks like in practice.

This role reports directly to the CPO and carries real influence over product direction.

What You'll Do
  • Own design strategy. Set the multi-quarter design vision across the platform and AI-powered product lines, and make the case for design investment at the executive table.
  • Rebuild the operating model. Move the team from a centralized ticket queue to decentralized pods embedded in product-line tracks, mirroring how Product and Engineering are organized, for continuity and closeness to the customer.
  • Make your team AI builders, not AI users. Designers work directly against the codebase (GitHub access, same as engineers) to produce interactive, implementation-accurate prototypes grounded in the real system, not static comps or invented flows.
  • Set the tone for cross-functional speed. When designers and PMs both move fast with AI on the same problem, best and fastest wins, in service of the customer.
  • Govern the design system as infrastructure, measurably accelerating design and engineering velocity across every surface.
  • Drive B2B design excellence for complex, data-dense, multi-persona enterprise workflows, with WCAG 2.2 accessibility as default.
  • Embed research and data, using usability testing and behavioral analytics (FullStory, Pendo, or similar) to inform roadmap-level calls.
  • Hire and build the team, recruiting designers who want to be on the cutting edge and will push the bar further.
  • Set the culture: direct, kind, elevating feedback, and strong, opinionated points of view.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of UX or product design experience as a strong, opinionated design leader who drives change.
  • Proven track record setting and executing design strategy at the organizational level, including hiring and developing senior design talent.
  • B2B SaaS background, not primarily consumer. Enterprise buying cycles and deep user research demand a different approach than B2C.
  • Real, hands-on fluency in AI-augmented design workflows, backed by specifics: what tools, what process, what you actually built. General AI tool use alone isn't enough.
  • A demonstrated personal drive to stay current on AI-enabled design, through training, cohorts, or peer networks, even without a full prior rollout to point to.
  • A clear point of view on resolving design/PM overlap in an AI-builder workflow, rooted in shared ownership, not territory.
  • Proven experience building and governing design systems as cross-team infrastructure.
  • Strong command of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cybersecurity or a closely adjacent regulated/enterprise-trust space.
  • Experience scaling a design org through a growth stage or product expansion.
  • Experience formalizing agile, pod-based design operating models.
  • History building design leadership pipelines.
  • Comfort engaging directly with customers, including live, collaborative sessions.

Benefits:

Specific to each country, we offer a competitive salary, stock options, Health benefits, and unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursements, and much more!

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $320,000 - $365,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.
