Full Job Description
We are looking for a Utility Solar O&M Manager Location: Northern Colorado Job Summary As a Utility Solar O&M Manager, you will join our Global Operations / Performance team! In this role, you will report to the Solar Portfolio Manager and will have the opportunity to lead Solar Operations by ensuring strong performance and contribute to long term Operations planning to meet our aggressive growth goals. Key Responsibilities: • Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and federal safety and environmental regulations, promote and guarantee a safe environment and culture for employees, contractors, and the public. • Operations: Manage a full range of service providers including O&M, LTSA, SCADA, and potentially construction. Oversee Preventative and Corrective Maintenance of O&M Contractors, investigate the feasibility of deploying Predictive Maintenance to renewable assets. • Obligation Management: Work with utilities and O&M Contractors to align projects and programs with PPA & IA obligations. • Monitoring: Continuously monitor plant performance to ensure operational excellence and compliance. • Communication: Act as the bridge between site-level operations and corporate management, communicating site issues, drafting internal and external reports, and • Utility Compliance: Proactively ensure all contractors perform work aligned with Good Utility Practices, coordinate outages with utilities. • Reporting: Generate and distribute periodic operational reports (monthly/annual) for leadership, commenting on KPI's to support decision making. • Stragegy: Develop and implement industry leading standards and programs to efficiently maintain and improve site performance. • Budget: Coordinate with Business Development, Finance, and Valuations teams to propose operational budgets for existing and potential future sites. • Spare Parts: Combine experience in operations with OEM recommendations to identify critical spare parts for future projects while periodically analyzing failure rates at existing sites. Qualifications and Skills: Your profile is a natural match if you have: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy), other technical discipline, or demonstrated professional experience & aptitute • Experience: 7+ years of experience in Renewable Energy, preferrably focused on operations, asset management, and/or commissioning. • Travel requirements: This role will require occasional travel to renewable sites for commissioning oversight, integration of newly aquired sites, and critical operational needs. training. Skills: • Technical Asset Management: Demonstrate critical thinking in understanding, explaining, and resolving highly impactful technical operational issues. • Data: Utilize and analyze site data to influence decisions for long term operational benefit • Contract Proficiency: Thoroughly understand PPA, IA, LTSA, and EPC contracts to ensure performance and compliance. • Contract Management: Ability to manage contractors to uphold obligations within time, cost, and quality requirements. • Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical PV & BESS concepts to non-technical stakeholders and remote teams, both verbal and written. • Domain Knowledge: A working knowledge of industry standards, best practices, AHJ and NERC coordination and reporting. • Project Management: Ability to manage many projects simultaneously under minimal supervision, self prioritize work in line with leadership expectations. • Program Management: Ability to develop and maintain operational programs for existing sites as well as integrating new sites into the portfolio. • Collaboration: Work with the Engineering and Construction organization to allow for successful project completion and turnover to the Operations Team • Due Diligence: Work with the Business Development and M&A organizations to analyze potential future sites and forecast long term operational expenditures accordingly What drives your application forward: • Experience & Leadership in Renewable Energy Operations • Thorough knowledge of PV and BESS design, construction, commissioning, and operations. • Experience resolving complex operational challenges
