Job Announcement The
City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a
Utility Mechanic Senior at our
Water Production Remote Facilities. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repair duties at a water, wastewater or reverse osmosis facility, remote potable field sites, aquifer storage and recharge sites and reclaim water turnouts. May serve as a lead worker and may lead projects.

Minimum qualifications• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in pump repair or plumbing; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; and
• An ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification upon hire/promotion; and
• An ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification upon hire/promotion; and
• Pass a respirator fit test within six months of hire/promotion; and
• Obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within six months of hire/promotion; and
• Obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification within one year of hire/promotion; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
