Position Location: This is a remote role that will cover the West - California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Neveda, Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming. The person selected for this role needs to live in one of these states.

The Siemens Electrification & Automation's Utility Systems & Solutions segment is seeking a Business Development Manager for our Western region. The area of responsibility includes the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Neveda, Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming. The Utility Systems & Solutions business is responsible for growth, and development of EA's Utility and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) markets.

The Siemens Electrification & Automation's Utility Systems & Solutions segment is seeking a Business Development Manager for our Western region. The area of responsibility includes the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Neveda, Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming. The Utility Systems & Solutions business is responsible for growth, and development of EA's Utility and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) markets. The distribution system product portfolio includes but is not limited to reclosing devices, distribution and substation switches, fuse saving devices, protective relays, and distribution automation solutions.

We are looking for a Utility Business Development Manager for the distribution system portfolio. This position is remote within the United States.

You'll make a difference by:
  • Drive profitable growth for the EA Distribution System portfolio by planning strategically, creating demand, and driving promotional activities.
  • Influence specifications and key accounts to position Siemens as the preferred solution provider in the market.
  • Collaborate across teams, including product management, finance, and operations, to deliver marketing insights and ensure organizational success.
  • Partner with sales teams and utility agents to support relationships with IOUs, municipal/co-op utilities, IPPs, and EPC firms.
  • Lead business development efforts, handling opportunity pipelines, reviewing budget proposals, and delivering impactful training and presentations.
  • Provide marketing leadership to guide internal functions and support critical initiatives that drive overall business objectives.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with the following:
    • Business development or sales within the power systems or related industry.
    • Electrical power distribution systems, including low- and medium-voltage architectures, protective relaying, control schemes, and equipment design and applications.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional international travel.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Experience working with electric utilities
  • Experience working with both end users and EPC firms, with a strong understanding of their unique needs and processes.
  • Proven track record to negotiate contracts and handle complex agreements effectively.
  • Hands-on technical expertise, including the ability to demonstrate equipment and conduct live demonstrations confidently.
  • Skilled in delivering product training to sales teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients at executive, engineering, and operations levels.
  • Exceptional presentation abilities, capable of engaging customers and EPCs with compelling proposals.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, growing in a dynamic, matrixed organizational environment.
  • Hunter mentality with a strong drive to win new business-this is a growth-focused role, not account maintenance.

The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
