Position Description: CGI is seeking a highly experienced Utilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and drive strategic initiatives across the utilities sector. This role will provide deep domain expertise in electric, gas, and/or water utilities, helping clients modernize operations, improve customer experience, and navigate regulatory and technological changes.
The ideal candidate combines strong industry knowledge with consulting, technology, and stakeholder engagement experience.
This position is located in Miami, FL in a hybrid working environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in the utilities industry (electric, gas, water).
. Provide domain expertise across areas such as: Grid modernization AMI / smart metering Outage Management Systems (OMS) Work, Asset Management, and Field Management
. Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
. Support solution design, implementation, and transformation programs.
. Lead or contribute to RFP responses, proposals, and client presentations.
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, delivery, product, and sales).
. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies
. Provide mentorship and guidance to internal teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 8+ years of experience in the utilities industry.
. Strong knowledge of at least one domain: Electric utilities (preferred) Gas or water utilities
. Experience with key platforms such as: SAP IS-U / S/4 Utilities Oracle Utilities (CC&B, MDM, etc.) Other CIS/OMS/MDM systems
. Proven experience in digital transformation or system implementation projects.
. Strong understanding of utility business processes and regulatory environments.
. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
. Consulting experience (Big 4 or similar) or prior role at a major utility.
. Experience with CGI's Open Grid 360
. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
. Knowledge of: DERMS Advanced analytics / AI in utilities Cybersecurity in energy systems
. PMP, TOGAF, or similar certifications.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 - $156,700.00.
