ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a senior UI/UX designer who will be the design champion within an agile project team in the Washington DC Metro area. This role will be a remote position. At times the role will also require travel to the Quantico client site when necessary.
What you'll do:
- Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, and the Software Engineering teams to develop and design the interfaces
- Work as a UX Practitioner, Product or Web Designer in an Agile software application development environment
- Create Wireframes and coordinate with multiple technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to understand the interface needs
- Interviewing stakeholders and synthesizing their feedback to uncover patterns and themes
- Prioritizing feedback, creating feature lists and defining a minimum viable product (MVP)
- Creating visual artifacts such as story mapping and flow diagrams that help explain complex workflows and process
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:12 years experience with a BS/BA degree, 10 years with a MS/MA, 7 years with a PhD or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Clearance: active Secret clearance
- 5 Years of direct UI/UX experience creating Wireframes
- Understanding of 508 Accessibility Standards
- Experience with Miro, Axure, Sketch, Figma, Material UI or Adobe XD
- Experience with using a Design System and component library that maintains organizational standards and styles in typography, composition, color theory, responsive design and accessibility.
- Strong analytical skills, specializing in cloud-based software development.
- Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies, Kanban Framework, and Waterfall.
- Experience with modernization of an IT system or program and transformation to the cloud
- Experience with CI/CD automation, and/or DevSecOps practices to increase delivery velocity
- Experience using Jira and Confluence; developing user stories and identifying features based on client requirements.
- Certification: Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of starting
- Must be local to the Washington DC Metro Area
Desired Skills:
- US Web Design System (USWDS)
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Familiarity with frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
