Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring technical excellence through design reviews and mentorship. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to translate complex business needs into actionable solutions, promote engineering best practices, and continuously improve processes and products. - Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Lead system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
- Collaborate across teams to define user problems and translate them into actionable technical requirements.
- Utilize data-driven practices to track success metrics and optimize development processes.
What you'll bring: - Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as a Full Stack Engineer: JavaScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
- Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through iterative development and continuous integration.
- Skilled in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
- Demonstrated capability in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with business objectives.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
