Role summary:

Walmart is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions. This role involves analyzing requirements, coding with adherence to standards, and implementing automated testing and telemetry features. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable applications that meet business and technical needs. Continuous improvement, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential to support project milestones and enhance system performance within an agile development environment.

About the team:

The Sam's Promotions Platform team designs and operates omni-channel promotion solutions supporting Membership, Merchandising, Marketing, and Loyalty, including Sam's Cash. This team delivers seamless promotion management across in-club, online, and mobile channels by addressing complex challenges involving multiple systems and large-scale data. Utilizing modern web, cloud, and data technologies, the team focuses on building scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance services. Members contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and business impact through continuous innovation and collaboration with technical and business partners, ensuring reliable and measurable results.
What you'll do:
  • Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain code components adhering to coding standards and security policies across multiple platforms and languages.
  • Collaborate in iterative development cycles, contributing to user story creation, requirement traceability, and functional/non-functional requirement fulfillment.
  • Implement automated scripts to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines, enhancing development efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct thorough testing, defect analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability, maintainability, and performance of applications.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and coding languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
