Role summary:
As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while ensuring adherence to quality and security standards. You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and delivering high-value outcomes aligned with business objectives.

Join Walmart Engineering to design and scale cloud-native platforms that support a vast enterprise ecosystem. The team builds resilient, automated systems using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, React, Node, GCP, and Azure. Engineers own end-to-end solutions, including API design, distributed services, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tools. With a focus on integrating generative AI, the team enhances productivity and innovation. What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality code following established standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and effective problem-solving.
  • Lead small engineering groups by providing guidance, documentation, and mentorship to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance activities, and evaluate change requests for feasibility and impact.
  • Support business users by addressing technical inquiries and recommending sustainable solutions aligned with business goals.


What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#.
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture and platform design, including API and component services development.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues effectively.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation scripting.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure high scalability and maintainability.
  • Skilled in collaborating cross-functionally and mentoring small engineering teams to achieve project goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
