What you'll do...
Role summary:
Join Walmart as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the delivery of scalable software solutions through collaborative engineering teams. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality code across multiple languages while integrating AI and machine learning components to enhance platform capabilities. You will drive full lifecycle development, including testing, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards. The position requires strong technical judgment, proactive problem-solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable, innovative software that supports Walmart's operational excellence and customer experience goals.
About the team:
The Transportation team develops advanced products and technologies that support Walmart's Supply Chain by delivering goods efficiently to warehouses, stores, and customers. The team builds high-scale, resilient applications using real-time Trailer and Tractor Telematics and Computer Vision, leveraging IoT sensors, devices, and cameras on Walmart's and third-party fleets. These solutions enable effective fleet management, driving significant cost savings. The technology stack includes React Native, Java microservices with Spring Boot, Postgres Timescale DB, Kafka, Cosmos, ElasticSearch, Azure, Splunk, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust and scalable platform performance.
What you'll do:
  • Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
  • Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor application performance, support defect resolution, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Mentor peers, promote continuous improvement, and contribute to engineering excellence and innovation.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in Java, Springboot based applications and microservices
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through iterative development and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in solution design, technical leadership, and applying scalable, maintainable design patterns.

Sunnyvale, California US-11656: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09158: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
