Position Summary...The Senior Manager, Software Engineering, leads platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones. About the team:
The Command & Control Center (CCC) operates as Walmart's centralized 24/7 enterprise incident command and operational coordination hub. The team leads rapid detection, escalation, communication, and mitigation of critical technology and business incidents affecting operations. CCC establishes incident command structures, coordinates cross-functional response teams, and drives decision-making to restore services swiftly. It continuously monitors systems to proactively address disruptions and supports operational readiness during high-impact events. The team also ensures governance through incident documentation, root cause analysis, and process oversight, fostering operational excellence and effective stakeholder communication across the enterprise.
What you'll do...- Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with domain priorities and roadmap milestones.
- Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, and frameworks to support scalable, secure, and reusable development.
- Drive full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, promoting DevOps practices and continuous improvement.
- Manage cloud cost optimization and enhance automation, telemetry, and tooling to reduce operational friction.
- Mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and uphold technical quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of complex initiatives.
- Foster innovation by identifying opportunities for process and product enhancements.
What you'll bring: - Proven leadership in platform engineering, overseeing software and AI/ML system execution aligned with strategic roadmaps.
- Expertise in software development lifecycle management, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance across multiple teams.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud financial management to optimize delivery and reduce operational costs.
- Experience guiding architectural reviews and system design for scalable, maintainable, and high-performance platforms.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Skilled in mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence through code quality and security standards.
- Demonstrated adaptability to evolving technologies and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
