As Senior Manager, Data Science, you will lead advanced analytical initiatives to develop, validate, and deploy complex models that drive strategic business decisions. This role requires expertise in statistical methods, machine learning, and data visualization to translate business requirements into actionable insights. You will guide a team in applying best practices for model assessment, feature engineering, and scalable deployment while collaborating cross-functionally to align solutions with organizational goals. Your leadership will foster innovation, ensure data quality, and support continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and business impact.
About the team:

The Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics team at Walmart US leverages advanced data science, machine learning, and data visualization to shape network asset strategies. Collaborating across functions, the team develops and validates analytical models aligned with business goals. Utilizing expertise in Python, SQL, and supply chain management, members deliver actionable insights to enhance operations. Committed to continuous improvement and innovation, the team supports strategic decision-making and operational excellence within a dynamic retail environment, driving impactful solutions that optimize performance and business outcomes.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the development, assessment, and validation of advanced analytical models using best practices to ensure accuracy, robustness, and scalability.
  • Design and implement data visualization solutions that effectively communicate complex insights to business stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable data science projects aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Guide and mentor team members on modeling techniques, feature engineering, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify data sources, ensure data quality, and support model deployment and monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement by integrating emerging machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to develop and validate complex models.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Strong knowledge of model assessment techniques including ROC curve analysis, Chi-square tests, and error metrics.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Expertise in deploying scalable models and monitoring performance in production environments.
  • Proven leadership skills to mentor teams and guide technical development.
  • Solid understanding of business metrics across multiple domains including supply chain and transportation management.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
