What you'll do...
Role summary:

The Senior Manager, Global Sourcing Strategy leads strategic and transformation initiatives that advance Walmart's Sourcing & Procurement agenda. This role partners with Sourcing, Merchandising, Product Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, and market leaders to define opportunities, build business cases, shape pilots, and create executive-ready recommendations.
The role requires strong problem solving, analytical depth, project leadership, stakeholder influence, and communication. The Senior Manager should be comfortable moving work from strategy to pilot to repeatable execution, while using data, dashboards, automation, and AI tools to improve insight generation, decision-making, and team productivity.
What you'll do:
  • Lead high-priority strategy and transformation initiatives across Sourcing.
  • Define problem statements, structure options, assess trade-offs, and recommend clear actions.
  • Build business cases, financial models, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
  • Design and support pilots, including success metrics, governance, work plans, and scale-up recommendations.
  • Convert successful initiatives into playbooks, operating models, RAPIDs, governance routines, and repeatable tools.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready presentations, white papers, updates, and decision documents.
  • Use AI/LLM tools to generate insights, synthesize information, improve communications, build dashboards, and create agents or workflows for recurring tasks.
  • Identify market, supplier, category, cost, country-of-origin, resilience, and technology trends that create risks or opportunities.
  • Manage work streams, timelines, stakeholders, risks, and leadership updates across multiple projects.

  • Collaboration and Influence. Builds effective working relationships across functions and BUs. Facilitates alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Experience supporting LRP, AOP, or comparable enterprise planning cycles
  • Familiarity with strategy frameworks such as portfolio prioritization, market entry, cost levers, and make vs. buy analysis
  • SQL proficiency
  • Prior experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, or food industry sourcing.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
