Position Summary...What you'll do...Role summary: The Manager, Quality Control, oversees quality assurance and food safety processes within the distribution center, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This role involves leading teams, mentoring associates, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product freshness and safety. The manager collaborates with suppliers and internal partners to uphold cold chain protocols and HACCP requirements, while managing budgets and addressing operational challenges. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to promote accountability, ethical conduct, and consistent execution of quality control practices aligned with Walmart's mission and values.
What you'll do: - Oversees quality, freshness, and food safety of grocery in a distribution center as they flow from suppliers through distribution centers to stores and clubs. Inspects inbound fresh produce; floral, poultry and meat for adherence to Sams Club specifications.
- Oversees Seafood Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan.
- Oversees Sams fruit ripening program.
- Oversees cold chain compliance within the distribution center to ensure products are kept at proper temperature.
- Provides communication on fresh product quality to the merchant group and other relevant stakeholders to improve the quality of perishable products.
- Interfaces with the vendor community regarding quality of products being received into Sams Club Distribution Centers.
What you'll bring: - Proven expertise in quality control and regulatory compliance within food distribution environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and food safety protocols.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing associates to achieve operational excellence.
- Ability to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Proficient in business process management and effective communication with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Commitment to ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of quality assurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools to support reporting and documentation.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
