Your key responsibilities

Within Technology Consulting, we assist clients to effectively leverage technology-enabled capabilities to analyze their business and operationalize their strategic goals. We combine knowledge of business processes with technology capabilities to drive operational efficiency across our client's organization. As a staff consultant, you will support our client engagement teams by performing a diverse range of tasks, including business process documentation, budget analysis, root cause analysis and business case development. You'll develop the skillsets you need to stay relevant today and in the future - all while building a network of colleagues, mentors and leaders who will be on the journey with you at EY and beyond.

As a Technology Consultant at EY, you will support one of our areas of focus. During the recruiting process, you will align and interview for one of the below practices based on your skills and experiences. Opportunities will vary based on hiring demand and your location of interest.

  • EY's AI and Data teams assist clients to leverage AI and trusted intelligence to optimize performance, enrich customer and employee experiences and unlock new sources of growth. Our expertise spans Data Strategy, Performance, Engineering, Demand, Architecture, Business Intelligence, Reporting and Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Automation and Robotic Processing.


  • EY's Platformteams help our clients explore opportunities to innovate and mitigate risk through business-led, technology-driven transformations. We provide strategy, architecture and solution implementation services, including application and integration of technologies like Oracle, ServiceNow, Microsoft and SAP.


  • EY's Technology Strategy and Transformation support clients across various technology capabilities including technology strategy and digital foundation design, technology capability assessment, technology operating model design and IT Technology organization design.


  • EY's Cybersecurityteams help organizations provide a clear picture of current cyber risk posture and capabilities, helping organizations to understand how, where and why to invest in managing cyber risks.


Industry sectors

Our professionals are divided among three different industry sectors within which there are various opportunities available to start your career. During the recruitment process you will have the opportunity to express your preferences. The sectors are defined as follows:

  • Financial Services Organization (FSO) - serves clients across the following industries: Banking & Capital Markets, Insurance, and Wealth & Asset Management. As an FSO Technology Consulting Staff, you will work in AI & Data or Platforms.


  • National Consulting - serves clients across a variety of industries including, but not limited to: Consumer, Retail, Health, Life Sciences, Industrial Products, Mobility, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Private Equity, Media, Technology and Telecommunications.


  • Government and Infrastructure (G&I) - serves federal clients as well as state and local agencies and higher education institutions. As a G&I Technology Consulting Staff, you will work in one of the following areas: AI & Data, Digital Engineering, or Cybersecurity.


Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must:

  • Be pursuing an undergraduate or one year master's degree with a strong foundation in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, data science, or data analytics.


  • Have an aptitude and/or experience with Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python, C, C++, PHP, web development, analytics focused tools and platforms such as SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, business process design, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP or Oracle, or integration tools.


  • Know how to effectively leverage firm approved AI tools to enhance problem-solving and productivity and have the ability to exercise sound judgment around AI-related risks and considerations.


  • Understand that the expectation for this role is in person teaming, at a client site or in an EY office, on average 3 days a week depending on the needs of the engagement, project or practice area.


  • Have access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.


  • Be able and willing to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.


  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.


In addition to the qualifications listed above, candidates applying to the Government & Infrastructure Sector practice must:

  • Have U.S. citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher, within the designated time frame, which will be determined by the engagement requirements for a security clearance.


Ideally you:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).


  • Are a purpose-driven and growth-oriented professional with a passion for learning, a collaborative mindset and a proven ability to innovate, adapt and leverage technology to drive meaningful change in dynamic business environments.


  • Have proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong academic foundation in business and/or technology and demonstrated ability to evaluate complex issues and develop effective solutions.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $82,000 to $95,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
